Welcome!
DANCE:
Leng is a dance instructor who specializes in Israeli and International folk dances. She has over 30 years of teaching experience.
Israeli dance has become a worldwide phenomenon, not just in the Jewish community, and not just in Israel. Globally, hundreds of thousands of dancers participate in Israeli dance classes as a recreational outlet. Enjoy middle eastern music, embrace this important part of Jewish culture and connect with Israel!
This is a wonderful way to enjoy exercise/aerobic activities, without feeling like you are exercising. Reap the physical and mental benefits of dance. Not only are you exercising your body, but also your brain! Studies have shown that dancing can help reverse aging of the brain and possibly deter and prevent Alzheimer's and dementia disease.
Leng offers regular dance classes for teenagers and adults. All are welcome to join and prior experience is not required. One does not have to be Jewish to enjoy Israeli dance. Now you can be a part of this and experience how exciting folk dance can be. Besides, Israeli dance, Leng also teaches/leads Balkan, Serbian, Turkish, Greek, Macedonian folk dances, among others.
Leng has also taught Israeli dance at various Hebrew schools: Congregation Sons of Israel in Briarcliff Manor, NY, Solomon Schecter High School in Hartsdale, NY, Ezra Academy in New Haven, CT, Joseph Slifka Center at Yale University, Schecter Middle School in Hartsdale, NY, Westchester Jewish Center in Mamaroneck, NY, Temple Beth Torah and Congregation Sons of Israel in Nyack, NY, Temple Beth Sholom in Hamden, CT and Temple Beth El, in Stamford, CT.
